Walking,
Through a deserted wood,
Completely engulfed by trees
No sign of civilization
Rustling leaves crunching
Underneath feet,
While wandering aimlessly
Off the path
Into uncertainty.
Listening
To the peaceful singing of the birds,
Only then the breathtaking surroundings
Engulf you.
The leaves
Just beginning to change
From green to red,
Yellow,
Orange,
And brown.
Feet carry you to
A tree stump
Decide to sit and think.
Only a short amount of time
Is spent thinking
Soon to be interrupted by a book,
Your mind
No longer consumed in your surroundings
Is living in the book.
The forest
So still
So quiet
Always finding an excuse
To enter it
And lose yourself within a good book.
Through a deserted wood,
Completely engulfed by trees
No sign of civilization
Rustling leaves crunching
Underneath feet,
While wandering aimlessly
Off the path
