Christmas Poem

Christmas is the time of giving

The time everyone gets together with family,

And with friends.

The time we are thankful for Jesus' birth.

We celebrate.

Having wonderful food to eat,

But what about people in poverty.

How do they celebrate Christmas?

That I really do wonder.

There are probably no gifts

And no big fancy meal.

Probably no where to go.

No more family to see.

Possibly confined to where ever they call home.

Some people even scavenging for food

Or things to sell.

When you think about it,

We really are lucky to have life go so easy on us.

To not to live with the day to day struggles,

Always knowing when we are going to eat next

And where you are going to sleep that night.

We know that all we have to do is go home.

Then everything is right in front of us.

This Christmas take the time,

To pray for the less fortunate,

Donate gifts and food to people.

What are we going to do with ourselves?

Think of all the gifts that you get at Christmas,

Most are never used again,

Maybe once or twice,

But then buried in a box,

Or closet never to see the light again.

Wouldn't someone else like to have those things?

"One man's junk is another man's treasure."
